DSS-TUTORIAL (WEAP-MODFLOW) & DSS-TOOLS

Based on the experiences of various DSS-Training Workshops a comprehensive DSS-Tutorial has been developed guiding the unexperienced user step by step from an existing Groundwater Flow Model in MODFLOW2000 to a powerfull Decision Support System (DSS) in WEAP-MODFLOW, calculating groundwater recharge, surface runoff and irrigation demand for historic, actual and future scenario constraints.

There is a basic WEAP-MODFLOW Tutorial available from the WEAP website, lacking however the data preparation steps in GIS, ACCESS and MODFLOW. Additionally a tool (MODFLOW to Shapefile Tool) to transcribe MODFLOW input data to a shapefile was developed and is available from the link below.

In many regions background maps for landuse delimination are missing, therefore a tool (GoogleEarthImageExtractor) to download georeferenced images from GoogleEarth in the required scale was developed and is available from the link below.
