Guidelines

Objective:

Water resources in the Arab region are scarce and often over-exploited. Measures to protect groundwater resources from becoming polluted have long time been neglected. An integrated water resources management (IWRM) is urgently needed.

Equally important in the context of IWRM is the protection of Soil Resources as a basis for the implementation of sustainable land-use forms.

The guidelines aim to improve the management, protection and sustainable use of groundwater and soil resources in the Arab region. They give recommendations which technical methods to apply for which conditions.
